Cecile and her husband, Jannie, live in a large wooden house situated up against the embankment in a narrow valley just behind the shopping center of the little village of Groot Brak River. Mossienes Avenue with its thick indigenous shrubbery and trees just doesn't seem to belong. Sitting at my table and gazing up at the embankments and the surrounding gardens I couldn't help feeling I was somewhere near the Wilderness or deep in the Garden Route. The sense of peace was quite lethargic. I could have sat there all day. And a special treat that morning was the appearance of at least twelve Knysna Loeries in the trees above us. Monkeys are also frequent visitors I was told. But let's get back to Cecile and her herbs!
Cecile makes her own herbal foot creams, herbal moisturizers and various herbal posies. She is available for herbal demonstrations and can be contacted at 044 620 3143 or cell 082 435 9568. She can easily accommodate up to thirty people. Her place really is worth a visit and her tea is worth the drive. Cecile, herself, is an interesting person and it wasn't long before we were chatting away. I aim to go back again for another cuppa. This time I'll try my luck for a second cup (a bit hotter than last time). After all what's life without a decent cup of tea?
