Knysna local, Danielle Pieters and her pony, Mistofolees Bear, won the FEI CIC 1* Class at the Western Province Eventing Championship in Stellenbosch in September.

Her nine-year-old pony, who competed in her first FEI CIC 1*(this denotes international level of competition), was leading throughout all three phases of the competition - dressage, cross-country and showjumping. "

It took Ms Bear just three years to progress through the levels of eventing to international standard," enthused a proud Pieters.
Pieters is both the owner and rider at DP Equestrian in Rheenendal, Knysna and a member of the Eastern Cape Eventing team, currently ranked second in South Africa.

Horse and rider will be competing again for provincial glory at the South African Team Inter-Provincials in Port Elizabeth early in November.
