Twelve Plettenberg Bay ladies have banded together, discarded their inhibitions and created a risqué but stylish 2013 calendar in aid of raising funds for two local causes close to their hearts, namely the NSRI and Plett Cansacare.
To acknowledge the town’s gratitude to the volunteers who freely give of their time to these two community services, these 12 local, mature ‘gals’ wished to demonstrate their own voluntary ‘skills’ by partially shedding their clothes to produce an amusing version of the original Calendar Girls, who inspired a British film with the same name in 2003.
The 2013 calendar, now on sale for R100 each at some 20 retail outlets in Plett, also depicts aspects of life in this exceptional seaside town with each month portraying either a sport or pursuit available locally, for example golfing, walking, cycling, nightlife, art and theatre to name a few.
