A group of women who enjoy knitting are doing it for those less fortunate who are in need of something warm to help ward off the bite of winter.
They call themselves the George Charity Knitting Club and meet every second Tuesday of the month when they spend an afternoon knitting and socialising.
They return home, knit in their own time and bring their finished articles back to the meeting the following month.
A huge variety of articles is created, ranging from baby clothes to jerseys and beanies of all sizes, as well as blankets. These are donated to places such as Options, George Hospital, Bethesda, the TB hospital and crèches.
The club's monthly meeting starts at 14:00 in the small hall at the Catholic Church in Meade Street.
If you want to click knitting needles with them, phone Sally on 044 874 0137 or 082 877 3850.
