The 2018 Dr. Evil Classic will feature the best mountain-biking the Garden Route has to offer. A limited number of entries remain for the BUCO Dr. Evil Classic, the official partner race of the BUCO Lions Karoo to Coast.

“All routes are designed with the average rider in mind,” says Evans, race co-owner. “However they’re also challenging enough for those wanting to race.” The emphasis of the event is on the quality of the ride and is the only time that riders will have access to the entire route, as there are many private landowners.

If you plan to ride the Buco Lions Karoo to Coast and you also enter the Buco Dr. Evil Classic 3 Day Stage Race, you will secure a preferential second start position in the Karoo to Coast by entering both events.

The three-day stage race, which takes place from 20-22 September will have a different start/finish village for each of the three days.

“This means no doubling up on routes in and out the villages,” explains route designer Leon Evans. “It also makes for three very diverse riding days,” says Evans, who himself rides a lot and designed the routes to take in a combination of all his favorite rides.

There are also two new magnificent race villages – including the Plett Game Reserve (20th September) and the Kurland Hotel and Polo Estate (21stSeptember) and day three remains at the majestic Cairnbrogie Dairy Farm on the 22nd September 2018.
