A cosy private 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom self-catering timber cottage with open plan kitchen and lounge. Spacious deck overlooking dam and farmlands, child and pet friendly. Sleeps 6. Elephant rest is idyllically situated along the beautiful indigenous Lawnwood forest, allowing guests to cycle the infamous “Homtini cycle route” or hike directly into the forest. A peaceful and tranquil getaway, relax and enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the deck.

For the weary traveler, we have a comfortable, cosy cabin with en-suite shower/loo/sink. A spacious deck with picnic table. Sleeps 4 (2 double beds in separate rooms). This can also facilitate bigger groups for the cottage. Hiking and Cycling trails on your doorstep and in close proximity to the historical Millwood Gold Mines where the Gold nugget cycle route is found and the enchanting picnic spot Jubilee Creek.

Visit the Dalene Matthee monument under the gentle giant Yellowwood tree. Birdwatching is abundant – watch out for the Knysna Loerie and if you’re lucky- the Narina Trogon. Enjoy country living and spoil yourselves to the charming Sunday Totties country market. . A general store is open 10 mins away or enjoy a scenic drive into the picturesque town of Knysna +- 20 kms away.

Our “Sunshine veg garden” is available to purchase purely organically grown vegetables, when available. Come to Elephant Rest Forest Cottage to enjoy the peace, the fresh air, bird and frog symphonies. Relax, getaway and enjoy the beauty of nature and restore your senses…
