The Wittedrift area is home to some 130 species of bird, some of them migratory visitors. The Festival is designed to celebrate this abundance of birdlife and provide an opportunity to experience these beautiful birds with expert guides.

Wittedrift offers a tranquil location for birding in an area of great natural beauty and diversity. Our local businesses and birding experts have put together 8 days of birding experiences that will take visitors to astonishingly diverse ecosystems – from fynbos to forests, from grasslands to reedbeds and riversides. Several landowners have given birders access to some fabulous places not normally open to the public.
