Motorsport fans can look forward to an action-packed programme at the Mossel Bay Sports Festival, when another motorsport gymkhana takes place on Saturday, 29 September and a burnout competition is held on Sunday, 30 September.
The motorsport gymkhana will be held in the parking area at De Bakke Beach and the organisers are confident that it will draw as many, if not more competitors than the thousands of spectators that attended the successful motorsport gymkhana at the Dias Festival in February 2012.
The burnout, another popular pastime for local motorsport fans, will take place at KwaNonqaba.
"We already have top entries like Lionel Jordaan of Kraaifontein, Kobus Wilson from Albertinia and Nico and Johan van Rensburg of Mossel Bay for the gymkhana and expect to have another top-notch competition. However, we hope to get many more entries and that the locals will not be shy to come and display their talent," said the convener, Mr Steph Pietersen.
Both events will start at 11:00 and end approximately 19:00 on the respective competition days. In the motorsport gymkhana, there will be prizes for the winner in the rear-wheel drive section, as well as of the front-wheel drive section.
There will also be prizes for the best junior driver and the crowd favourite. In the burnout, the winners will be the first competitors in the different categories to pop a tyre.
"This will be a great opportunity for sponsors to advertise their companies or products and it would be appreciated if they could contact me if they are interested," said Mr Pietersen.

The main Mossel Bay Sports Festival will take place from 28 September to 30 September, although some events will continue into the first week of October. A mixed martial arts tournament, a junior triathlon and a biathle will take place on 6 and 7 October, respectively.
