Die Dorpshuis is centrally situated in Calitzdorp, a quaint little town on Route 62, nestled in the heart of the Klein Karoo of the Western Cape. Die Dorpshuis was built in the late 1800’s as a prestige residence for an unknown person. Since then it was extended and became the residence and surgery for the town’s doctors and eventually the home to a local schoolmaster.

Accommodation is available in 5, double en-suite bedrooms, beautifully decorated, and equipped with DStv. A warm atmosphere is created by Oregon floors and fireplaces. The garden, described as a little farm glen, is complemented by an azure pool and braai area.

Calitzdorp lies on the famous R62, 49 km from Oudtshoorn to the east and 50 km to Ladismith in the west. It is surrounded by the Swartberg and Gamka Mountains and is set in the Gamka Valley Winelands.Calitzdorp is known as the port wine capital of South Africa.
