Restaurant with delicious food and great ocean view in Herolds Bay.

If you are looking for a great restaurant with stunning ocean views, incredibly tasty food and extremely friendly service, then I highly recommend Dutton’s Cove in Herolds Bay.

Dutton’s Cove is one of mine and Bryan’s favourite restaurants for a bite to eat at lunchtime. However, if you are looking for a great restaurant in the Garden Route for an evening meal, the sunsets from Dutton’s Cove will be absolutely breathtaking, so definitely consider it for an evening meal too.

There are a variety of different seating areas, from upstairs with spectacular views of Herolds Bay beach and the ocean, to the larger downstairs seating area where there is plenty of shade to keep away the hot midday sunshine and then to a cosy indoor dining area with a fireplace if you happen to be visiting on a cooler winters day.

Dutton’s Cove opens at 11h00 and closes at 22h00 everyday.

They have a great and extensive food menu that will satisfy all meat-lovers, fish-lovers and vegetarians alike, plus their selection of wines and craft beers complement these dishes superbly.

Everything Bryan and I have ordered from their menu has been utterly delicious.

Actually, now that ! am writing about it, I think we need to go and make a visit to Dutton’s Cove again, very soon!

Dutton’s Cove, is located at 21 Rooidraai Avenue, Herolds Bay.

To reach the restaurant, take the Herolds Bay exit 425 off the N2.

If you are coming from the direction of George, turn left at the Stop sign onto the R404. If you are coming from the direction of Mossel Bay, turn right at the Stop sign onto the R404. (You need to be heading in the opposite direction of George Airport).

After about 1.9km you will see a turning to the left, signposted Oubaai. Take this left turn and continue on the road. You will pass a sign to Oubaai Golf Estate on your left, and after a further 2kms and you will find Dutton’s Cove on your left-hand side. There are some parking spaces at the front of the restaurant, so we recommend you try to park here.

If you are visiting or traveling in the Garden Route during the peak holiday season, we highly recommend that you either try and book a table, or at least contact Dutton’s Cove to find out what time you should arrive to ensure a table.
